Of grand aunts and 91st birthdays

My 4th post will be dedicated to a recent celebration that was held in Penang- You guessed it!

Before the birthday dinner, we had lunch at my grand aunt's house. All the 40-odd people there are related to me in some way. It was a little like meeting strangers though. But the food was nice, heh heh.

I am the 24th generation 'Chee'. A book called "The CHEE clan" was recently published and circulated among ourselves. The birthday girl herself translated the book to English. She learned to use the computer in her 70s and started using a handphone in her 80s! My family got her to sign all 14 books of ours...hahah!

..................................................................

7.30pm was the dinner. There were 13 tables there I think. My table was the furthest from the stage. Some of the food were nice, but there was one really shocking one which not many from my table ate. I'm a vegetarian. And this was a piglet with hollow eyes and placed in the correct position to stare at me. How ironic that Chee in chinese sounds like 'pig'.

In between meals I went to say hello to my grand uncle Koh Tsu Koon. He's extremely nice, laid-back and friendly. The next day there was a comic about him in The Star newspaper.

A group picture was taken. The photographer guy seemed very professional. Every thing had to be perfect so it took lots of repositioning of people. Sigh..what a nice reunion.

I'm feeling pretty half-eyed now....

My sister got a new haircut today and I'm so envious of it! To put it shortly it looks like snow-white's hair but a longer version. Gorgeous!

Signing off. Thank you for reading guys, every person counts:-)
