5th post. Read it

I wanted to write about my first experience attending a fashion show (marie claire, at the Gardens mall. my sister got to get in because she purchased a skirt from there and was thus invited. We had our names in their name list along with some important people + celebrities. Then a pro photographer took our pictures while we stand in front of a big board. We had free food and drinks, they had champaign too but of course we don't drink. Another photoman took a shot of us again and we felt like celebs. My sis mingled with 2 people while I stood mostly alone, scanning the crowd of designer clothes-clad humans. Then watching 2 shows in which the second show consisted of a model whose shoe came out on the runway.), but then, you might not be interested.

So this is it. Tomorrow is my driving test, today was my last driving practice. And I have just spread all my henna on my legs. I'm a big fan of non-wastage. So 3 days ago, I got out all the clumps of left-over dried henna and soaked them in water for days.

You may see a permed hair version of me if you're lucky. Because after the test on Tuesday, Wednesday I will have a perm for the first time in my 19 years of life.

Come to think of it, this year has been a year of many firsts.

1st time:
- Travelling on plane alone
- Living alone in a foreign land (Cambodia, 4 months)
- Teaching children and youths
- Cycling on a highway
- Eating crickets and frogs
- Highlighting my hair (it was purple and turned brown)
- Driving

And lots of other things that I can't think of right now.

Next month I'm going to participate, once again, in NaNoWriMo (Natonal Novel Writing Month) where you write a 50 000-word novel in November and get a certificate. Perticipants worldwide reach 100s of thousands.

True fact: In 2005, at 15, I wrote a novel called "Fear is Beautiful". Had a 3 year hiatus and now resuming.

So reader, Have YOU got any firsts this year?
